As mentioned in my post about ODF the current developments of OpenOffice.org may challenge Adobe and it’s PDF. Now it seems that I’ve been right. Adobe reacted quite quickly and announced to release the full PDF for standardization.
Another example that proves how important standards can be in innovative context. Why? The simple answer is that large companies and especially governments prefer to use standards and so it’s as usual a matter of money. Therefore the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is a big and powerful player in this game. Let’s hope that they handle their responsibility carefully!
