COMPASS is a german-chinese cooperation project with the aim to create a virtual guide for the Olympic Games 2008 in Beijing. The idea is that one has just to install the software on a PDA or something similar and while connected to the internet your virtual guide leads you through one of the largest cities in the whole world. COMPASS can speak Mandarin, show you the way to the next restaurant and tell you the history of a temple. A story futurologists are telling since a couple of years. Maybe the Olympic Games are the starting shot of a really practicable solution for this idea.
