At the DEMO 07 Conference this week a new technology of inkless printing is presented: ZINK.
Some details about the company and it’s development are discussed at the DEMOblog.

So let’s see if this will be the new version of the good old Polaroid instant camera … at least it was developed by Polaroid Research Labs.
Michael Kanellos states a provocative but not unqualified question in his post: Zink wants to take the printer off of your desk and put it in your pocket. The question now is whether you’ll want it.
Companies that provide services like party pictures or something similar are likely to use such technologies in future if they are cheap enough for bulk goods. But if you ask me, I don’t need it. What I’d like to have is a simple and standardized way of transfering pictures from one device to another without any detour. Just take a picture with my camera, press a button and then my friend can confirm the tranfer of the file on his mobile phone – finished. And, yes I know – it’s also a question of security.
