Podcasters wanted to show their power – or in other words their economic relevance. They idea was to push a song on iTunes to show that podcasting and new media is a social movement that has a pretty far reach across the globe. And did it work? Well, the song of the unsigned band “Black Lab” has nearly accomplished to reach the top 10 of iTunes US Rock Charts. And this is “only” the result of a 24 hours mission.
One lesson we should definitly learn from this experiment: We have to rethink the realtion between traditional and new media again and again because changes are accelerating.
