Today is the second day of CNET News’ special report “Engineering change”. The underlying question is “How can technology aid the poor?” and the topic is discussed based on three examples of people who left tech careers to aid the world’s poor.
- Saving Mongolia’s mothers
- Clean-water fix for slums
- African kids plug in
In a world of profit maximization projects like the three mentioned above are as well as the famous “100 dollars laptop” not a matter of course. All the more we should appreciate them (at least by promoting them via our publishing channels).
I take my hat off to people engaged in such projects!
