What would you have imagined as the most innovative country in the world?
Recently the Economist Intelligence Unit published a list based on the number of patents each country generated during [the last] four years, per million people (mental_floss blog).
Here is the list of the top 15:

1. Japan
2. Switzerland
3. U.S.
4. Sweden
5. Finland
6. Germany
7. Denmark
8. Taiwan
9. Netherlands
10. Israel
11. Austria
12. France
13. Canada
14. Belgium
15. South Korea

I wouldn’t have dared to search for my home country in this list. Rather than Austria I would have expected countries like India or China but obviously they have too much inhabitants to be competitive in this category. So allow me to be at least a bit proud of my small but nice country
