The innovative Cisco Cius is an ultra-portable, mobile collaboration business tablet that offers access to essential business applications and technologies. (Cisco Cius)

But the really interesting question is if someone needs a business edition of Apple’s status symbol. Just think about video conferencing … it’s not that widely accepted – all the more sitting on the airport. Or working on your mails … reading is possible on nearly any mobile device but writing – most people prefer to write on a “real” keyboard. So let’s see if Cisco can change these habits.

His conclusion: a cost-effective, massively deployable desalination technology to master the global water crises.

I also recommend you to read the discussion in the comment area of Daniel’s blog entry.
To my mind the generation of “green energy” could be at least as challenging as the difficulties concerning the lack of drinking water. Green in this context means not polluting the environment during the energy generation as well as during the production and disposal of the needed equipment. Well, the ultimate perfection of this technology would be the perpetual motion machine. So we have to search for an asymptotic solution.

It is easy to own, easy to maintain, and easy to operate. And, most importantly, it is easy on the environment. The majority of the vehicles at the rush-hour in a big city, carry a single passenger.
It reminds me a bit of a next level version of the BMW C1 motorcycle but imho this could be one of the future transportation concepts: not at least because of the individuality aspect!

Eventhough the innovation step is just an incremental one I really recommend to watch this video. Another proof for the good old saying: “A picture is worth a thousand words!” And now you may guess how cool it might be if there are 5,000 pictures every second – in contrast to 5 million words
